Frequently Asked Questions

This page will be updated as new FAQs are answered. Please read through this page before submitting the form on our "Contact" page, however, if your question isn't answered feel free to ask!

  • I'm not so good with the metric system; how long is a 5K run?
5 kilometer = 3.1 miles... or in even more American terms, the length of 54.56 football fields.

  • I want to register old school... can I print out a registration form?
Absolutely! Please visit our registration page (under "5K Race") and at the top right click the blue "Download Registration Form" button. You may type the form or print and fill it out by hand. Please make sure you fill the form out completely and sign it after reading the waiver. Follow the instructions at the top of the form for mailing and check payment.

  • Soooo... How do I join/make a law enforcement team?
For those registering online, click Register Online to be transferred to our Eventbrite registration system. Fill the form out completely. At the end of the form there will be a question asking if you are a sworn law enforcement officer. Click "Yes" if applicable. This will reveal additional question regarding your department/agency name which will be your team. You may also fill out an additional team name under this should you be running in a different law enforcement organization (E.g. You are a police officer in Vernon but wish to run as a CREST member. Law enforcement teams must have at least 3 runners to qualify for team awards.

Likewise there will be a question asking if you are a K-9 officer and what your K-9 partner's name is. Please fill this out only if you are running with your furry partner.

For those registering via mail, fill out the form available on our registration page with your department name in the appropriate spot. We'll take care of the rest.

  • How do you feel about dogs and strollers?
We're more cat people, but dogs are fine too! Oh... at the race? Sure! You are more than welcome to run with your dog or child in a stroller. For law enforcement K-9 officers we feature a separate division for you (please see question above).

  • My kid is too big to fit in a stroller and they want to run. We good?
While we did feature a separate kids' race we have discontinued this due to lack of interest. We have however changed our registration to accommodate this. Kids under the age of 14 may participate in the 5K race for a reduced registration fee. We will not be held responsible for your hurt ego if your child finishes the race before you.

  • You guys have the coolest race T-shirts ever! I get one right?
That's mighty kind of ya! All pre-registrations will receive a technical race t-shirt (the cool moisture wicking kind). Pre-registration shirts MUST be picked up on race day; they will NOT be mailed to you afterwards. If you are a procrastinator and wait until race day to sign up, we cannot guarantee that you will receive a shirt. Race day registrations will receive a shirt while supplies last.

  • I’m more of a walker than a runner, can I still come?
Come one, come all! Please note however that for the safety of all involved and the convenience of the community the course will be close at 11 AM so walk accordingly! We ask that participants wishing to walk the course group in back of runners at the starting line.

  • Yeah, I'm not really, how would you say..."race ready". Can I still donate but not run?
No worries, but you better get training for next year! In the meantime you can still visit our online registration page and select the "Donation" option in the race registration types. Additionally, those registering to run the race may add additional money in this section to be donated. Just like the race registrations, 100% of all donations received will be provided to the National Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial Fund. Please keep in mind that stand-alone donations are subject to the same terms and conditions and do not include race registration or bib/merchandise.

  • Wow, seems like you guys are working hard! Need a hand? I could volunteer!
Wicked nice of you to offer!! If you are interested in helping out race day with set-up, clean-up, race day registration etc. that would be awesome! And we promise, you'll have fun and no heavy lifting. Please visit our volunteer page for additional information and to sign up!

  • I own/manage a supplement/nutrition/wellness/massage/physical therapy/police supply, (etc.) company and I am interested in sponsoring the event, offering services or handing out freebies or promoting my business on race day.
That's great! Contact us and we can set something up. We have a number of sponsorship plans and would be happy to discuss them with you. Additionally, with our non-profit 501(c)(3) status you have the option to donate, feel good, and get some love at tax time! Please keep in mind that we have limited space for booths/tables so please contact us as soon as possible. We are happy to help great local companies promote their business with us. Please find additional information on our sponsor page.
